About Tamryn
Tamryn’s passion for hand rehabilitation began during her community service year in rural KwaZulu Natal in 2013, working with an Orthopaedic Surgeon who had a keen interest in hand surgery. With this invaluable teaching, Tamryn found herself in an environment where she could explore and learn.
A year later, Tamryn began working in the hand therapy unit at Dr. George Mukhari Academic Hospital, Ga-Rankuwa, South Africa, one of the very few hospitals that has a ward dedicated to hand and micro-surgery. This includes a hand clinic which services up to 1000 patients every month. Here, Tamryn refined her skills in the rehabilitation of traumatic and non- traumatic upper limb injuries.
Tamryn Turner Occupational Therapy (TTOT) is a private practice located in ARWYP hospital in Kempton Park, Gauteng.
Upon arrival, every patient is assessed and treatment goals are addressed, with special focus on one’s return to work.

Our holistic approach to the treatment of upper limb injuries ensures incorporation of the person, their environment and their occupation into every intervention provided. Clinical reasoning, biomechanics, anatomy and physiology form the foundation of their interventions.
A love for a challenge is the driving force propelling Tamryn’s development of skills, learning new techniques and pushing the boundaries to return patients to work.
